The aim of the research project is the examination of different possibilities to record and then work out suggestions for the reduction of emissions into the air, pollution of the environment by waste water, waste and oil as well as impairments caused by noise and vibrations from ships in the ports of Lübeck-Travemünde within the scope of the implementation of the Agenda 21 process.

Als Vertragsstaat der Klimarahmenkonvention ist Deutschland seit 1994 dazu verpflichtet, Emissionsinventare zu Treibhausgasen zu erstellen, zu veröffentlichen und regelmäßig fortzuschreiben.

Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Untersuchung wurden die Luftschadstoffimmissionen durch den Schiffsverkehr im Umfeld des Skandinavienkais in Lübeck-Travemünde prognostiziert und das Potenzial von Minderungskonzepten geprüft. Zur Ermittlung der gesamten Schadstoffbelastungen wurde das großräumige Straßenverkehrsnetz innerhalb des Untersuchungsgebietes ebenfalls einbezogen.

Dioxinexperten aus der ganzen Welt treffen sich jährlich zu einem einwöchigen internationalen Symposium, um die neuesten Erkenntnisse und Forschungsergebnisse über halogenierte organische Schadstoffe vorzustellen und zu diskutieren. In diesem Jahr fand der Kongress mit über 1000 Teilnehmern aus 40 Ländern an der TU Berlin statt.

In this study, the degree of air pollution resulting from shipping traffic in the surroundings of Skandinavienkai in Lübeck-Travemünde has been considered. In order to estimate the total level of emissions, the main road network within the area under investigation has been included in the study.

The eutrophying effects resulting from increased deposition rates of reactive nitrogen to ecosystems are a major problem in the context of long range transported air pollution. Therfore, one focus of the related effects oriented research is to improve knowledge on time- and area-depending effects for modelling purposes.

As a Party to the United Nations Framework on Climate Change, since 1994 Germany has been obliged to prepare, publish and regularly update national emission inventories of greenhouse gases. By adopting the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, the international community of nations reached agreement, for the first time ever, on binding aims and implementation instruments for global climate protection.

Innerhalb des Umweltbundesamtes besteht die Aufgabe des Messnetzes dar-in, die großräumige Immissionssituation und die Wirksamkeit von Sanierungs-maßnahmen zur Verbesserung der Luftqualität im Background zu erfassen und erforderliche Daten für die tägliche Politikberatung und für langfristige Konzeptionen zur Luftreinhaltung bereitzustellen.

Fluorinated greenhouse gases (GHG) are used in a multitude of applications to date. Next to perfluorinated compounds (e.g. CF4, C2F6 or SF6), especially the fluorinated hydrocarbons (HFC) are of relevance by means of volume. HFCs represent the special focus of this study.

Fluorierte Treibhausgase finden heute Verwendung in einer Vielzahl technischer Anwendungen. In dieser Stoffgruppe sind neben den in speziellen Anwendungsbereichen eingesetzten Perfluorverbindungen (z.B. CF4, C2F6 oder SF6) insbesondere die Fluorkohlenwasserstoffe (H-FKW) mengenmäßig relevant. Die H-FKW stellen den besonderen Schwerpunkt der Studie dar.

This report reviews the EU Directive’s guidelines for a model’s quality assessment, and examines specific model quality criteria, that may be used for model accuracy assessment according to the intentions of the EU directives. Several model accuracy measures are tested utilizing a one-year simulation with the chemical transport model REM-CALGRID (RCG).
