Visit us
Free brochures are available at the visitor centers at our Dessau-Roßlau and one of our Berlin sites. You can also visit a branch of our environmental library at either of these two sites, or at our Bad Elster site. The model eco-building at our Dessau-Roßlau site is also worth a visit. read more
ZERO WASTE
Waste is everywhere: in the Great Pacific garbage patch, as fine particular matter in the air, or as microplastics in the food chain. The group exhibition Zero Waste showcases international positions in contemporary art that point out the urgency to save resources, consume less, and live more sustainably. Zero Waste is on display at the MdBK Museum of fine arts in Leipzig from Jun 25 til Nov 8. read more
Professor Dirk Messner is new President of the German Environment Agency
On 1st January, Professor Dirk Messner succeeded Maria Krautzberger, who had held the office for five years and retired at the end of last year. Federal Environment Minister Schulze congratulated the internationally renowned sustainability researcher at his inauguration, attended by staff of the German Environment Agency in Dessau. read more
Professor Dirk Messner appointed new President of the UBA
The internationally renowned sustainability scientist Dirk Messner will become the new President of the German Environment Agency on 1 January 2020. On 31 July 2019, the German Federal Cabinet approved this personnel proposal by Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze. Professor Messner succeeds Maria Krautzberger, who is retiring at the end of the year. read more
