Global 100% Renewable Energy and the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) invite Local and National Leaders and involved NGOs to participate in the international Forum on the local support of the NDCs by 100% efficiently used renewable energy as part of the Climate Summit Dialogues at COP23. For practical insight a field trip to the county of Marburg-Biedenkopf is offered on the preceding days.

Fostering cooperation between local and national government representatives, the dialogue will provide opportunities for policy exchange of enabling frameworks and strategies in the energy sector. The particular focus lies on renewable energy deployment and energy efficiency. Supporting the implementation of the Climate Vulnerable Forum’s Marrakesh Vision, decentralized energy concepts for developing countries will be discussed. This International Dialogue aims at strengthening the multistakeholder collaboration on 100% RE, particularly the exchange between local and national government representatives. The outcome will be summarized in a publication outlining best practices, experiences, in addition to policy recommendations for local, national and international decision makers.

Preceding to the Forum a field trip to the county of Marburg-Biedenkopf will give a detailed insight to their strategy and energy projects. The committed community is located in the beautiful landscape of Middle Hesse a three hour train ride from Bonn.

The programme of the Forum and the field trip to Marburg-Biedenkopf can be reached via the conference website.
