Urban Article 6 activities – Pilot candidates in Addis Ababa and Kampala

This paper presents possible urban Article 6 activities in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and Kampala (Uganda). Prepared as part of the project "Article 6 Paris Agreement Urban Market Approaches - Recommendations for Implementation", four case studies are presented in priority sectors: 1) Transition to Electric Cooking in Kampala, 2) Rapid Bus Transit in Kampala, 3) E-mobility in Addis and 4) green cooling in healthcare facilities in Addis. For each project, the emission reduction potential and the investment costs have been estimated, along with suspected practical challenges in their implementation were identified.
