The Internet portal Thru.de has information about the volumes of pollutants that industrial facilities are emitting to the environment and how much waste they are disposing outside their facilities.

The UFORDAT environmental research data base contains more than 200.000 descriptions of current or completed environmental research and development projects in the German-speaking region. Online database searches are free at any time.

The central portal for environmental and nature conservation information offers access to information from all over Germany via a search engine. The nationwide range of environmental and nature conservation information is also presented in the form of editorial articles on specific topics.

The Federal Government's "UVP-Portal" provides information on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures in Germany's federal agencies. Environmental impact assessments determine, describe and assess the environmental impacts of projects and serve as precautionary environmental protection. The approval authorities in Germany conduct EIAs according to standardised principles and with the participation of the public.
