    KM-I-5: Change of flow direction

    The XY scatter chart KM-I-5 ’Change of flow direction’ indicates the number of days with flow direction changes in watercourses flowing into the Baltic Sea over the period of 1961 to 2021. Records were examined from four gauging stations in two Länder: Anklam and Demmin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as well as Lübeck-Moisling and Füsing in Schleswig-Holstein. The development at the gauging station Anklam is illustrated for the period from 1961 to 2021.

    GE-I-2: Heat-related mortalities

    The bar chart GE-I-2 ’Heat-related mortalities’ shows the estimated number of heat-related mortalities for the period from 1992 to 2021. A particularly high number of heat-related mortalities occurred in 1994 with the highest maximum value so far amounting to some 10,000 mortalities. In the years of 2003, 2006 and latterly 2018 the heat also led to an extraordinarily high number of mortalities. There is no significant trend discernible.
