TEDx Bonn mit UBA-Präsident Dirk Messner

Placing humans at the center of digital transition

How will technological transformation create a better tomorrow?

In recent years, digitalization has become ubiquitous in all areas of life and the economy. Thanks to information technology, machines, products and people are connected more and more. Is this leading to a smart green world in which everyone benefits from technological progress while the environment is preserved? Or are we heading into a digital growth economy in which money and power are concentrated among few and humanity passes beyond the planetary boundaries even more quickly?

Once again, we will be guests at the headquarter of Deutsche Telekom in Bonn. Together with international experts from science, technology, society and the arts we will examine the opportunities for making digitalization more human and sustainable in the future.

Looking forward to Yannick Hofmann (media artist and deputy director of the Hertz Lab at ZKM), Prof. Dr. Dirk Messner (President German Environment Agency), Nick Nuttall (International Strategic Communications Director at Earth Day Network), Angela Richter (Theatre director, author), Daniel Sproll (UX designer and Chief Experience Officer von Realities.io), Prof. Dr. Hendrik Streeck (Director of the Institut of Virology and HIV Research at the University Bonn) and Frank Thelen (Visionary and investor).

Our speakers are live on site. To comply with the distance rules during the recording, Deutsche Telekom will provide us with their large hall.

Directly after the talks, four of our speakers and two Deutsche Telekom experts will open a discussion round which you can also join in via Live Chat. The topic: The rising role of digitalization in our lives. A positive new force in society, culture, the arts and humanity?

You are invited to join our talks and the following live debate via stream.
