The Federal Environment Ministry and the UBA are announcing the German Federal Ecodesign Award for the fifth time. The Award recognises products, services and concepts that distinguish themselves both ecologically and aesthetically. The motto More than Beautiful governs this year's award under which businesses, design agencies, start-ups and students may make their entries until 11 April.

Old diesel vehicles must be phased out of city centres
The German Environment Agency (UBA) is recommending a fundamental reorientation of transport policy, and for cities in particular. Meat and non-seasonal produce with long hauling distances in particular continue to be a strain on the environment and the climate, according to data in the Umwelt, Haushalte und Konsum brochure by the German Environment Agency (UBA). UBA's President Maria Krautzberger said, "We will only be able to achieve our climate protection goals if we reconsider our consumer habits in earnest."
