Historical nutrient emissions and loads in German river basins of the North Sea and Baltic Sea

1880 scenario modelled with MoRE

The Marine Strategy Framework Directive requires a regular assessment of the eutrophication status of the North Sea and Baltic Sea. The basis for the assessment for Germany is the reference condition based on historical nutrient inputs around 1880. In the project, the MoRE (Modelling of Regionalised Emissions) nutrient input model was used to implement a consistent historical nutrient input scenario for the German Baltic and North Sea catchment area. The publication is aimed at authorities and research institutes involved in catchment modelling.
