This guidance document has been developed in the project “Implementation and enforcement of EU regulations on fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) and ozone-depleting substances (ODS) in Bulgaria”. The objective of the document is to support Bulgaria in maximising its regulatory and enforcement capabilities with a focus on market surveillance and inspections of companies.

This report summarises the findings and results of the project “Implementation and enforcement of EU regulations on fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) and ozone-depleting substances (ODS) in Bulgaria”. The project’s objective was to identify potential for improving the implementation and enforcement of different EU-regulations, e.g. of Regulation (EU) No. 517/2014, in Bulgaria.

The Guide on Sustainable Chemicals helps manufacturers, formulators and end users of substances to select the more sustainable solution. The guide focusses on sustainability aspects in areas like hazardous properties for human health and for the environment; mobility of a substance, greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption as well as responsibility in the supply chains.

Nachhaltige Chemie hat viele Gesichter. Sie reichen von der Auswahl inhärent sicherer Chemikalien über die ökobilanzielle Erfassung der Umweltauswirkungen einer Produktlinie bis zur Umsetzung von anspruchsvollen Sozialstandards in der Lieferkette.

Das vom Umweltbundesamt (UBA) fachlich begleitete und vom Bundesumweltministerium (BMUB) im Rahmen des Umweltforschungsplans finanzierte Forschungsprojekt evaluiert das gestufte Planungs- und Genehmigungsverfahren der Übertragungsnetze anhand repräsentativer Fallstudien und analysiert das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen beschleunigenden Verfahrenselementen und dem Umweltschutz.

The research project’s objective is to provide a legal and political science perspective to the Federal Government’s efforts to anchor the protection of resources more strongly at the international level. It analyses how public international law and other international governance mechanisms could be used more effectively to increase resource efficiency along the value chain.

Currently there exists a gap between the emissions projected in the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) submitted by countries to the UNFCCC and the emissions that are consistent with limiting global warming to below 2°C (Climate Action Tracker, 2015a; UNFCCC, 2015).

Die Analyse der Umweltpolitik der letzten Jahrzehnte zeigt, dass, neben der Bedeutung von Zivilgesellschaft sowie Krisen und Katastrophen, politische Konflikte und politischer Wettbewerb dafür notwendig waren, um umweltpolitischen Neuerungen zum Durchbruch zu verhelfen. Wettbewerb und Konflikte gab es zwischen:

Kreislaufwirtschaft, Geld und Umwelt, nachhaltiger Konsum und die Schattenseiten schnelllebiger Mode für Mensch und Umwelt in den Produktionsländern – das sind die Themen der diesjährigen Jahrespublikation des Umweltbundesamtes. Außerdem stellen wir Ihnen aktuelle Daten und Fakten zum UBA vor sowie unsere Forschungsarbeit zu Kunststoffen und unsere Bauprojekte.

Lebensmittel haben einen bedeutenden ökologischen Rucksack. Ihre Erzeugung benötigt Fläche, verbraucht Wasser und emittiert Treibhausgase. Leider entstehen allein in Deutschland pro Jahr rund 6,7 Millionen Tonnen Lebensmittelabfälle in den privaten Haushalten. Etwa ein Drittel aller im Außer-Haus-Verzehr hergestellten Speisen landen im Abfall.

Das im Faltblatt vorgestellte Forschungsvorhaben soll das Ziel der Bundesregierung, den Ressourcenschutzgedanken auf internationaler Ebene stärker zu verankern, aus rechts- und politikwissenschaftlicher Sicht unterstützen.
