Enhancement of Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers in Western Balkan countries and Republic of Moldova

Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTRs) are important for safeguarding the public’s right to environmental information and improving access to information on pollutants and waste. The project supported the partners in setting up appropriate databases and registers for recording PRTR data. Numerous national and regional trainings, international workshops and guidance documents provided capacity building for the relevant authorities, businesses and NGOs in the participating countries. This has now set the base for high-quality and technically accurate reporting by the partner countries to the EU.
