On 28+29/9/2017, European experts in gaseous nitrogene emission from mineral fertilizers are invited to join the NIFLUM workshop at Technische Universität Berlin. Funded by UBA and BMUB, the workshop is organized by TU Berlin (Soil Science), TU München (Plant Nutrition) and Döhler Agrar and focusses on standardized measurement practice to collect data for the calculation of EMEP emission factors.

The NIFLUM International Expert Workshop 2017 takes place at the 28th and 29th of September 2017 in Berlin and focuses on the evaluation of methods for the measurement of gaseous nitrogen emissions (NH3, N2O and NOx) from synthetic fertilizer application. It’s main goal is to work out recommendations for a standardized measurement practice to collect data for the calculation of EMEP emission factors. The workshop contains review and expert lectures about the formation, mitigation, analysis and modeling of N emissions as groundwork for later cooperative poster sessions and intense discussion panels (see the schedule). With unclear results, we will work on recommendations for a fast way to identify appropriate standard measurement approaches.

The workshop is funded by the German Environment Agency (UBA, project number 78396) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and managed by Technische Universität Berlin (Chair of Soil Science), Technische Universität München (Chair of Plant Nutrition) and Döhler Agrar.

We enthusiastically welcome experts from all countries of the European Union and are looking forward to an intense and successful expert workshop.
