Russia’s war of aggression has affected over three million Ukrainian households and is causing significant CO2 emissions through conventional reconstruction efforts. The HOPE HOME • НАДІЯ project is working with the municipality of Savodske to develop a climate-resilient and resource-efficient reconstruction model using bio-based materials such as hemp, straw, and clay. Through digital and hands-on workshops, local stakeholders are empowered to independently implement and promote low-carbon construction methods. An EU-compliant certification strategy for straw is being developed, and test fields for industrial hemp are intended to lay the foundation for local building material production. The goal is to establish a hemp-straw-clay manufacturing facility that creates green jobs in the community.
