Maria Krautzberger, President of the German Environment Agency, said: “Up-to-date figures on the development of renewable energy sources will provide a critical basis for decision making in government and industry alike. Robust data are needed for the planning of political processes and national climate action policy. A long-term project like the transition of the energy system (Energiewende) in particular depends greatly on the availability of reliable data. I am glad that by hosting the coordination office of the AGEE-Stat, the German Environment Agency will be continuously supporting the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in meeting reporting obligations and contribute to the success of the Energiewende."
The AGEE-Stat works on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and is a focal point for all questions concerning the data on the development of renewable energy sources in Germany. AGEE-Stat's member are experts from different federal government departments, federal agencies and scientific institutions.
