At the 5th International Chemicals Conference (ICCM5) held in Bonn, UBA is organizing a panel discussion on how to encourage research on sustainable chemistry and corresponding innovation approaches via a global Science Policy Panel. Different stakeholders will discuss how to make best use of chemicals to reach the SDGs.
The panel discussion will focus specifically on how research on sustainable chemistry and related strategies can help us maximize benefits delivered by chemicals while keeping negative effects to a minimum. With a sound management of chemicals being the foundation, this emphasis on SDG 9 is the next step towards mainstreaming global chemicals and waste management for reaching Agenda 2030. The panelists will discuss how to promote innovation and implementation of sustainable chemistry via the upcoming Science Policy Panel, and what role research and science can play.
