Traffic is growing and growing – and presenting cities around the world with similar challenges in terms of climate, environmental and health protection.

Transport currently accounts for 20 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. At the Berlin High-level Dialogue on Implementing Rio+20 Decisions on Sustainable Cities and Urban Transport on 20 June 2013, UBA President Flasbarth highlighted the role of urban and regional planning, full charging of environmental costs and the development of climate-friendly fuel strategies.
