Enhancing Connectivity at the Balkan Green Belt in Albania and North Macedonia | Umweltbundesamt

The Balkan Green Belt is essential for the development of Green Infrastructure at EU level. However, intensification of land use and infrastructure development are putting pressure on Green Belt habitats and their connectivity. To counteract this, an improvement of legislation and implementation of land use planning in the Balkan Green Belt, here in the project with focus on Albania and Northern Macedonia, is necessary.
