Bringing together an extraordinary network of experts, innovators, and leaders from across Europe, CASRI is on a mission to address urgent environmental and sustainability issues.
By fostering collaboration between European Environment Protection Agencies (EPAs), research institutions, and funding bodies, CASRI aims to influence policy-making and decision-making processes, ensuring that research leads to actionable and transformative outcomes. Focused on tackling global challenges and advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the project aims to bring about positive change at both national and European levels.
A Powerful Launch to Shape the Future
During the launch event, attendees delved into CASRI’s ambitious objectives, gaining a clear view of how the project will make an impact. Special attention was given to the work coordinated by the partner Deltares, which, following in the footsteps of the INSPIRATION project, is assessing the current status of environmental research and innovation in partnership with National Contacts (NCs) from 13 countries.
Moreover, the CASRI's thematic focus areas were presented. These include critical issues such as resilient net-zero circular production systems, biodiversity and climate, sustainable urbanization, and energy transition. As such, CASRI is set to drive high-impact research that fuels sustainability innovations, ensuring solutions that create a significant difference in the fight against climate change.
The meeting also covered essential administrative and operational elements and the first General Assembly played a key role in aligning the project’s overarching goals, enabling all partners to move forward in unison toward a shared vision.

With the launch behind us, the CASRI project is already well underway. Our partners are working to develop and implement innovative solutions that will shape the future of environmental sustainability across Europe.
