UBA explanatory video: Greenhouse gases and greenhouse effect

What is the greenhouse effect and which gases are involved? How do man-made greenhouse gas emissions cause change in the earth’s atmosphere and what can still be done to limit global warming?

20.07.2020

The mantle of air around our planet is composed of different gases. Man-made emissions of greenhouse gases such as CO2 or methane are changing the atmospheric balance. Climate change is the result, and the Earth is literally warming up – with far-reaching consequences for man and the environment. This is known as the greenhouse effect.

The video shows which gases are chiefly responsible for man-made emissions, which gas has the highest global warming potential, explains what a CO2 equivalent is, what the sources and volume of which gases are, and what we must do to limit global warming. Why? Because less man-made greenhouse gases means less warming.
