The current toolkit is based on the results of the research & development project “Suitable Instruments for Integrating Biodiversity Considerations in Climate Change ⁠Mitigation⁠ Activities, Particularly in the Land Use and Energy Sector” (Choudhury et al. 2004). The following chapters define the objective and scope of the toolkit, explain the context and international politicaland legal framework and outline the biodiversity targets.
