Programme

GerES IIa (West-Germany) 1990/91

2524 adults aged between 25 and 69 years collected from 100 sampling locations (response rate: 63.1 %) and 453 children 6 to 14 years of age.

GerES IIb (East-Germany) 1991/92

1763 adults aged between 18 and 79 years collected from 50 sampling locations (response rate: 69.0 %) and 359 children and adolescents aged between 6 to 17 years (238 children 6 to 14 years of age)

Selection of adults: two stage sampling design with regard to community size, age, and gender.

Selection of children: children who lived in the households of the adult.
