Germany is one of the world’s leading industrial nations – and a nation where tens of thousands of industrial installations generate air emissions, release contaminants into the sewage system, or generate production residues. But because of this, Germany is also at the forefront of the development of environmental protection technologies that avoid and reduce emissions. This section of our Web site (currently only available in German) discusses the key industry sectors with environmentally relevant manufacturing processes, the consequent environmental pollution, and measures aimed at avoiding or attenuating this pollution. The waste disposal and municipal water treatment sectors also come into play in this regard.
