International Soil Law and Governance Conference

On Thursday, 20 October 2022, the “International Soil Law and Governance Conference” will take place fully online. Organised by the Institute of Law of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), together with the Research Center on Climate Change Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Graz (ClimLaw: Graz) and the German Environment Agency (UBA).

Cooperation partners:

  • United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
  • Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

The one-day conference starts at 10:00 am and concludes at 4:30 pm. No participation fee will be charged. The online event welcomes participants in a freely accessible live-stream via Zoom.

Topics of the talks and moderated panel discussions include:

  • Soils: future challenges and good governance
  • Best practices and innovative regulatory approaches
  • Sustainable soil management and climate
  • Soil, international cooperation and food security
