UBA are hoping for meaningful symbols and strong images on the topic. The focus can range from concern about climatic developments to good ideas on how to protect it. The works are meant to demonstrate the responsibility that each and everyone bears for Earth’s future. Participants have complete freedom in choice of topic and medium, whether it is collage, an installation, painting, sculpture, video, or performance. Anything that captures the sense and emotions associated with man-made climate change is allowed. 

There are valuable prizes to be won in the following four categories: individual works of 11-to-14-year-olds, individual works of 15-to-20-year-olds, group projects of 11-to-14-year-olds, and group project of 15-to-20-year-olds.

A knowledgeable jury will select eight works from each category, which UBA will exhibit for four weeks in its Forum. After the exhibition closes the works will be auctioned off to benefit the Kleine Arche Dessau project for deprived children.
The award ceremony takes place at 3:30 p.m on Thursday, 5 November 2009, at the Federal Environment Agency in Dessau-Roßlau.
Entry deadline is Friday, 9 October 2009.
Registration forms and the contest poster can be obtained at the UBA main entrance, Wörlitzer Platz 1, 06844 Dessau-Roßlau. Larger-sized contributions can be delivered to the UBA library, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.. Teachers and youth educational centres are kindly asked to lend support to young artists in group projects.
