Abstract

From 2017 to 2021, experts from Germany and Romania developed a manual, which provides guidance for the identification, investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated sites at facilities of the oil and gas industry. They integrated, inter alia, results of advisory assistance, which had been provided for the process of remediating and developing contaminated sites of a former fuel depot in Bucharest in the period 2010-2015 (see Summary). The manual shall contribute to improve technical and administrative work-flows of the management and remediation of contaminated sites. In addition to a Romania-specific version, an UBA publication provides this guidance to any other country as well.
