Since 2008, 411 projects in about 80 countries have been supported by the International Climate Initiative (ICI), providing total funds of around 1.45 billion Euros worldwide.

In order to manage the promotional program of the ICI and measure its impact and success, those projects will be monitored.  A report about the results will be sent to the German government. Together with the Umweltbundesamt, a concept of monitoring and reporting was developed that is scientifically sound and at the same time practical. Discussions in an internationally established group of stakeholders and peer-reviewers were part of the developing process. At the same time the concept was tested on concrete projects.  All results of the concept development can be found in the research report.
