Marine Environment Symposium

11.03.2025

The Marine Environment Symposium (MUS) is organised annually on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) in cooperation with the German Environment Agency and the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation. The hybrid event informs scientists and representatives of the authorities about current topics in marine environmental protection and nature conservation on all aspects of marine protection, such as offshore wind energy, shipping, fishing, munitions in the sea, geoengineering, non-native species, pollutants, nutrients, ocean acidification, etc. In addition to moderated lectures in thematic blocks, poster presentations and, most recently, science slams will also be held. The German Environment Agency will provide information on current research findings as part of the Marine Environment Symposium. The last MUS 2024 took place on 28-29 May 2024 in Hamburg
