Directive on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides

As a partner event of the EU Green Week, UBA is organising this online seminar on the Directive on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides and the benefits of including biocides as well.

Together with plant protection products, biocides belong to the pesticides. Both share similarities – active substances, application methods – but also differences: Other than plant protection products, biocides can directly be used in nature or indoors to protect humans or materials from harmful organisms. This makes their sustainable use important to reduce their risks. However, Directive 2009/128/EC on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides focusses on plant protection products only at the moment. Within the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the European Commission announced that this Directive will be revised in 2022. This event highlights the benefits of including biocides in Directive 2009/128/EC on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides during the upcoming revision.

The Webinar will take place online, the number of participants is limited. Please register until 28.05.2021. The webex-link for the event will be distributed shortly before the event.
