Procedures for the assessment and establishment of noise-reducing air routes


Within the approval and assessment process for new flight paths, currently mainly operational and safety related criteria are been taken into account. The people affected by aviation noise also criticize an insufficient consideration of noise effects and overall little transparency of the assessment procedure. This study identifies the most relevant criteria for this assessment process and proposes a numerical assessment method.
