Conferences and events can burden the environment in various ways. The guide aims to support the people charged with preparing and conducting such events in doing so in an environmentally compatible fashion. The guide contains recommendations and tips relating to the most important key areas of event planning.
25 large-format (68 x 98 cm) bilingual (German/English) posters show practical examples of Germany's world of sustainable consumption. The spectrum ranges from fair-trade goods, through quality labels for flowers, textiles or agricultural products, to sustainable fisheries or forestry. Also included are contributions on sustainable construction, sustainable tourism, resource productivity and environmental education.
The five people leading different lifestyles that are profiled in the brochure and which has now also been published in English illustrate that there are several ways to achieve a climate-neutral lifestyle. Read now about the “big points” of climate-conscious consumption.
Environmental policy is crucial in coping with the challenges facing society, as evidenced in the 2010 representative survey on environmental awareness. Nearly two-thirds of those polled expect more active political action and for Germany to assume a frontrunner role in international climate policy matters. Another three-quarters perceive great potential for protection of the environment and climate within industry and the state. Willingness to do one’s own bit by adopting green consumer patterns is high.
