Last changed: 16/11/10
Due to the German Presidency of the European Union, the international conference ”Co2ol Food - climate friendly refrigeration in supermarkets” took place in Berlin on May 23rd 2007. Political actors and experts were invited by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Federal Environment Agency. Main focus was set on climate friendly refrigeration with carbon dioxide (CO2) as refrigerant. Compared to fluorinated greenhouse gases CO2 is a very energy-efficient refrigerant with a negligible greenhouse effect. After many years of development this result is a big success, which the participants and the representative of the European Commission took up positively.
