Publication of ”suitable” measuring instruments – Overviews published in the Joint Ministerial Gazette (Gemeinsames Ministerialblatt, GMBl) and in the Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger) (broken down into measuring object, type of measuring instrument, manufacturer’s name, bibliographical data):
Detailed notifications of measuring instruments were published by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in the Joint Ministerial Gazette (Gemeinsames Ministerialblatt, GMBl), under the title "Bundeseinheitliche Praxis bei der Überwachung der Emissionen und der Immissionen" (Uniform practice in monitoring emissions and immissions). Based on recent provisions under the Federal Immission Control Act, suitable measuring instruments are now published in the Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger, BAnz.).
Agreed methods for comparative measurements for the calibration of automated measuring systems are described in relevant VDI guidelines. The compilation of guidelines is maintained and coordinated by the Commission on Air Pollution Prevention (Kommission Reinhaltung der Luft, KRdL) at the Association of German Engineers (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure, VDI). Experts from industry, research and development, universities and environmental authorities come together in working groups on an honorary basis to develop and update the guidelines.
See ”VDI/DIN-Handbuch Reinhaltung der Luft”, particularly volumes 1, 4 and 5
These VDI guidelines can obtained through the Beuth-Verlag.
