According to Article 6 of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, activities to promote education, training and public awareness of climate protection must be strengthened. Educational materials especially designed for children are made available by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
The Federal Environment Agency has initiated and funded research projects within the framework of the Environmental Research Plan (UFO-Plan) that provide the expertise and background drawn on by policy decision makers (see Publications).
