The
Federal Environment Agency decided to conduct a special GerES
on children because they must be considered as a risk group for
adverse health effects caused by environmental factors
GerES IV for children has started in May 2003. 1.800 children from 150 sampling locations are analysed. A pilot study testing the sampling instruments was conducted in 2001/02. GerES IV is performed in cooperation with the Health Survey for Children and Adolescents (KiGGS) which is conducted by the Robert Koch-Institute.
